No Telehealth Notice

This practice does not offer telehealth consultations

Dr Moagi does not consult by video call, telephone or WhatsApp. Orthopaedic assessment depends on examining the joint: how it moves, where it is tender, how stable it is and how you walk. That cannot be done through a screen.

What this means for you

• A first opinion requires an in-person consultation in the rooms.
• A second opinion also requires examination, together with your scans.
• No prescription or sick note is issued without a consultation.

What the rooms can do remotely

• Book, confirm, move or cancel appointments.
• Answer administrative and medical aid questions.
• Give you instructions the doctor has already approved for you.
• Take a message for the doctor about an existing treatment plan.

Follow-up visits

Post-operative follow-up happens in the rooms, because wounds, movement and X-rays need to be seen. If travel is a serious difficulty, phone the rooms and they will discuss the options with you.

Emergencies

Do not wait for an appointment if you have severe pain, cannot bear weight, have a hot swollen joint with fever, or have a wound that is discharging. Go to the nearest Casualty Department or call 10177.

Should the practice introduce any virtual service in future, a full consent and information notice will be published here first, in line with HPCSA telemedicine guidance.
