Portal Terms of Use

Status of the portal

A secure patient portal is planned for a later phase of this website. Until it is live, these terms describe how it will operate. No portal account can be created yet.

Your account

• An account is personal to you. Do not share your password or let another person use your account.
• You must give accurate information and keep your contact details current.
• Tell the rooms immediately if you believe someone else has accessed your account.
• An account may be created for a minor or a dependent only by a parent, guardian or lawful representative.

What the portal is for

The portal will be used to manage appointments, complete forms before a visit, view documents the practice shares with you and receive administrative messages. It is not a channel for urgent clinical problems.

What the portal is not for

• Emergencies — go to Casualty or call 10177.
• Urgent clinical questions that need same-day attention — phone the rooms.
• Consultations. The practice does not provide telehealth consultations. See the No Telehealth Notice.

Acceptable use

You may not attempt to access another person's records, interfere with the security of the portal, upload malicious files, or use automated tools against the service. Access may be suspended where misuse is suspected.

Availability

The portal may be unavailable during maintenance or for reasons beyond the practice's control. Where a matter is time-sensitive, phone the rooms on 014 004 0075 instead of waiting.

Your information

Information you submit through the portal is handled in accordance with the Privacy Notice and the Sub-Processor Schedule. Clinical information in the portal forms part of your health record.

Termination

You may ask for your portal account to be closed at any time. Closing an account does not delete your health record, which the practice must retain for the period required by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
